Alpha 2 patch 3

The last update was a bit of a mess so this one brings it all to order along with adding a couple of new things:

Added:

Can now mark a cow or a pig as “protected” so it won’t be taken for slaughter automatically
Added 4 new music tracks
Added a sound notification when messenger arrives

Fixed:

Pigs and chicks still died without wheat even if other food available
Severe visual problems when choosing lower texture settings
Builders had serious problems building houses
Could not set supply options in farms

To update your game you can just download it again from Humble with the same link they sent you when you purchased the game and then replace it completely with your current version. Your saves and options will stay.

this patch n.3 almost necessary just to say the minimum!! I have reached 635 inhabitants I can increase!! so far my best score but the mess in this upgrade in this version is the filed cultivated…I mean wheat is proportional to the size and the achievement of cows despatched all over more less close to the cowshed what I do not understand is the amount of harvest related to sunflowers or Hemp or potatoes are very insufficient for a large community I am taking for big terrain size of 20-to 35 units per field and season, use to be much bigger and more efficient to satisfy people needs , do you think you changed something according to each of the above agriculture products in this regard? if you did please let’s go back to previous efficiency and result of harvesting will help a lot, thanks, and moreover will produce better effect upon people overall satisfaction and way of living and export too.
Video graphic performance stacks very much over 500 resident running everywhere…I have a 1060 mod- 6 gb- nvidia card and I’ll tell you isn’t enough!!

Another point to fix “Tannery” do not produce as fast as before something is going wrong 3 Tanneries is not enough for one shoemaker shop…? I am plenty of each single stuff needed to achieve the best result…still I struggle to have shoes in quantity for my people and reliable to be exported too…sorry to bother but last point the hay dryer when they reached the amount the should only produce what they need to keep the amount appropriate for the numbers of stall and the need occurring each season I know turns difficult but if the total amount is very large they should turn over to next season just a suggestion…bye

My Humble Bundle is at a much older version, the original I received a year ago – the version before this I downloaded and played successfully but this one isn’t. Any ideas?

  I reached 700 inhabitants my top score so far but the big problem is my video card 1060 6 GB mem is not enough to take up all the jobs going on the game and I mean people running and working and all the stuff concerned to move around only one speed (minimum) can still run the game and consequently time gets heavily bore anything else too.
  I have a suggestion… less overall views and get stuck to one single screen each time (moving the rest out of the sight and in different stuck mem) so the job for the video card on any PC will be less hard than now is. I don’t know if this is possible but to have at least second speed (of 3 available at the very beginning) you need to modify something MEM video use & allocation and so on…for sure.

I got along fine with Ostriv 1. Now with Ostriv 2,Patch 3. Seems another kettle of fish to me…. ( like f.i. Food Variety when you even didn’t have a chance yet to do something about that…) Anyway, after starting over for about 10 times it seems i finally got something going. But i’m something like -700 in dept. Got cows and chickens/eggs alright but i guess i need pigs as well. No money to send a messenger. So (i presume) no export neither. Best to start over again or is there still a glimmer on the horizon to fix these problems ?…. Thanks for any hints/tips !

  Stop seeing your villagers as persons. They are just an income source on legs. Raise the sale taxes and monthly rents so much that the families pay a bit more then they earn each month. Give them just fish and flour, cause thats easy to mass produce. And lots of houses… People will come to your village, loose all their gold and then leave your village… to make room for another sack of gold.

      Well I tried. But soon I noticed either I lose slowly money or my people do. Then I tried it with communism. Houses and goods were free but also no payment. And just like in real life it failed – cause no one was going to work. So they don’t deserve any better.

        you could just manage wages better and have multible markets where trade happens that should help you earn some nice money. I have like 70K gold and nothing to do with it.

    No no, the game is great, you can get enough gold from trading, you can make people staisfied by just give them another food like(Eggs and chicken meat,…), at first it’s really annoying but after the third or fourth year you be able to give them Food Variety, and get gold from trading.
    it’s all about good managing and knowing when to start projects.
    
    For me:
    0 – Do a pause 🙂
    1 – Make 8 workers at Camp Center this will make all building acomplish quickly.
    2 – Build a Forestry, and assing 2 workers to it and raise their salary to 120% (this will make them accept the job quickly)
    3 – build a Thatchery, Clay pit, Charcoal pile.
    (Thatchery and Clay pit is necessary for building and Charcoal pile is necessary for using at Smithy to create Nails).
    assign a woman to thatchery and low her salary to 70% woman don’t mind low salary
    4 – Build the first glory 9 houses 🙂
    5 – Unpause and speed-up the game, and just wait until they finished all the houses.
    6 – While you waiting. add this to the building queue:
    – Find a good spot to start farming. and Build a Farm. And make fields and active them, and of course chose wheat and potatos and sunflower to produce.
    – Build a Smithy. ( after it builded: Assign a 1 worker to start making nails)
    7 – add to building queue a 3 other houses
    
    8 – Wait until february, you will have all builidng done, save the game name it. the first stage.
    
    after this you can always try many experiment and then load the (First stage) and try again.
    
    if you need more of my way or any other question about any situation just ask.
    
    I always reach to 120 population and everything just fine, money good trading good, people happy (some times they need money (I give them or try to change their job))
    
    Again it’s all about managment.

Anyone else having the issue with people not taking up jobs? I’m at 50%
unemployment now with almost 10 jobs available. They just will not fill
them, I’ve waited 6 months as well, still nothing. Tried rebuilding the
buildings incase it was an issue with the building but same thing, jobs
lie empty. (Posted in older patch, sorry).

Pigs eat way too much! I literally can’t afford to have them, because I can’t produce enough wheat just for them, let alone have enough for my villagers. Tanneries produce leather very very slowly, so much so that shoemakers are rather useless. It’s impossible to make money for several years, minimum. When I finally do start making money, there are houses, often the same ones repeatedly, that lose all of their money and have to get financial help. If they don’t get it, they leave. I don’t always have jobs for people, so that makes it hard. Additionally, the growth bar for fields never gets more than about halfway full, even with full stats before sowing, and I assume that impacts the harvest. Buildings that produce iron ore, iron, salt, and lime would be extremely beneficial. Trade really needs some work as well, as it’s really hit-and-miss with what the other villages will buy, and there are quantity limitations. So, I have an extremely difficult time making money from exports.
